It’s been a long summer but the 2023/24 Super League season is upon us.
And it will be a new-look competition with a number of fresh teams entering the fray.
Champions PYF Saltires are out to retain their title while last season’s runners-up Dundee aim to go one better this time around.
All of last season’s competitors are back at it again, though FC Edina have joined forces with fellow Edinburgh side Futsal Escocia and will be known by the latter's name.
So what can we expect this season?
When
The 2023/24 campaign kicks off on September 17 at Oriam in Edinburgh.
Sacachispas take on Galacticos before Futsal Escocia face TJ Slovak Lads.
The following week will then see three matches at Oriam and two at Perth College UHI, all 10 clubs in action.
League structure
The big change coming this season will see the Super League split midway through the season.
Every club will play one another once before the division splits into two leagues of five.
Post-split, each team will then play four matches to finish the season.
Media
Scottish Futsal’s partnership with InSports has ended mutually.
This season, highlights packages and selected live matches will be available on YouTube through Pivotal Sport, who have provided coverage of SFL-Dundee for a number of years.
This is also a brand new Scottish Futsal website to allow us to increase promotion of the sport - you're already looking at it!
Where
The Super League will be taken to new venues this season, including Aberdeen’s Robert Gordon University.
Matches will continue at Perth College UHI and DISC in Dundee as well as Edinburgh’s Oriam.
There will also be fixtures at Hutchesons’ Grammar School, West Lothian College, the Alistair McCoist Complex in East Kilbride and the University of Edinburgh.
