Season 2023/24 will be Futsal Escocia’s first taste of the Super League.
The SFL-Edinburgh side merged with Super League outfit FC Edina over the summer with the Escocia name continuing into the new season.
Edina finished in fourth place last season in the top flight while Escocia narrowly missed out on promotion from SFL-Edinburgh.
They did, though, enjoy a special Scottish Cup campaign as they reached the semi-final stage only to be knocked out by Dundee.
They kick off the new campaign in Sunday’s opening day, renewing their rivalry with Edinburgh University.

What they said
Buddy Mitchell was part of the Escocia side that reached the last four of the Scottish Cup and he says that experience will benefit the club in the top flight.
“We did well in the Scottish Cup last season,” he said.
“We did well in our game against Dundee and they are obviously one of the better teams in the league so we do hope we can push on this season.
“The Scottish Cup was pretty tough and we knew we had to work hard against Dundee. We didn’t get the result but we learned a lot from that game.”
First up is a familiar foe in Edinburgh University.
“We’ll be looking to get back at Edinburgh University after last season!” Mitchell added.
“There’s a bit of rivalry there. Off the court we’re all good friends but it’ll be a good match.
“The Super League as a whole will be a good challenge for us.”
