Dundee (white) hosted Joga at DISC.

The 2023/24 Super League table is beginning to take shape with matchdays five and six in the bag.

MD5 saw Letham Santos register their first win of the campaign, dominating TJ Slovak Lads at Perth College.

That was followed up by victories for last season’s top two, PYF Saltires and Dundee Futsal Club.

Both registered 9-3 successes with PYF defeating Edinburgh University on the road while Dundee had a tough test against Joga at home.

Letham Santos 10-3 TJ Slovak Lads

Before the game, both outfits were yet to get off the mark this season so something had to give.

And it was the Perth side who earned an impressive win, defeating a depleted TJ Slovaks side.

Goals from Michael Cook and debutant Connor Galletly had Santos 2-0 up after seven minutes. From that point they were in control at Perth College.

Erik Sula did make it 2-1 a minute later but quickfire goals from Paul Simpson, Fraser Smith, Scott Mollison and Cook once more made it 6-1 at half-time.

Sula grabbed another as Slovak Lads stemmed the goals but Santos stepped it up in the final 10 minutes.

Ryan Robb got his first of the night on 31 minutes before adding the final goal of the game with Simpson’s second and third sandwiched between.

Victory made it three points from three games for the Perth side with Galacticos next in their sights.

Edinburgh University 3-9 PYF Saltires

Edinburgh University played host to its first Super League match of the season and it was a tough one for the hosts.

New to the top flight after promotion from SFL-Edinburgh, the students faced champions PYF Saltires.

The new boys held their own in the early stages but were undone by a fourth-minute penalty, stuck away by Connor McLaren.

A back-post finish from Dell Newlands made it 2-0 before Long Tran fired in on the turn to get the Uni back within touching distance.

That didn’t last long, however, with Saltires skipper Kyle Ballingall netting a deflected effort from a corner kick for 3-1.

Newlands and Scott Ballingall would add two quickfire goals to give Saltires a comfortable half-time lead.

Edinburgh Uni got one back as Jacob Davies chested in a breakaway goal but PYF swiftly regained their four-goal lead through Kyle Ballingall.

He would grab his hat-trick on 35 minutes before McLaren did the same with a further two goals on 36 and 37 minutes.

A late consolation from Zaim Lio finished off an entertaining contest in Edinburgh.

Dundee 9-3 Joga

Three points separated the sides as Dundee played their first home game of the campaign.

Joga, meanwhile, had impressed on Tayside on their Super League debut by defeating Letham Santos in Perth.

Again there was plenty to like about the Glasgow side as they pushed last season’s runners-up for most of the game.

Dundee took the lead through Scott Milne’s sixth goal of the season before an own goal made it 2-0.

Sorley Youngs levelled matters on 12 minutes but Dundee would keep their noses in front.

Milne added his second for 3-1 before Rian Dempsey fired into the top corner to make it 3-2 at the break.

After half-time the visitors had plenty of possession as they pushed for the lead with Dundee happy to frustrate.

Chances came at both ends but it was that man Milne again who broke the second-half deadlock on the counter.

Scott Milne (No 9) makes it 4-2.

Dempsey got his second, a low shot sneaking in at the near post but there was to be no late leveller.

A long throw from home keeper Rob Black was nodded in by Zurabi Abelashvili before Adam Shaffi struck again within seconds.

From there, Dundee never looked back.

Milne would add his fourth – his ninth in two games – before two late flicks from Panos Trizoglou added gloss to the scoreline.

Victory moved Dundee level with leaders PYF Saltires, Futsal Escocia and Aberdeen with nine points, opening up a six-point gap to Joga on three.
